Simple ways to make Floating candles.
Materials:
*Any candle wax
*Stearic Acid
*Pre tabbed wicks
*Floater mold
*candle dye or camel wax colour
* Any Oil
Process:First melt down the wax in gas stove very carefully.Never melt it directly on gas .Always use double boiler.Place a pan on gas and add water. Place pouring pot within this boiling water and put the wax in it.Allow to melt.
2)If you want colourful floating candles, put the wax colour or dye when the wax starts boiling.
3)Place all floater mold in a tray or newspaper.Grease the inner side of molds with little oil so that you can take out the candles easily.
4)Now fill your floater with melted wax .
5)Once the wax begins to cool as evidenced by a slight haze forming along the edges of the mold, place your pre-tabbed wicks into the floater molds. The tab will “stick" to the congealed wax on the bottom when it touches. Care should be taken to position the tab roughly in the center of the mold.
6). When the wax has completely cooled, it will have shrunken a bit, leaving a sink hole. To fix this, melt down saved wax from the first pour, and heat it up hotter than the initial pour. This will facilitate adhesion between layers. Fill the molds again to the lip of the mold. You can also use heat gun to smooth the top of the floater.7). When the floaters are completely cool, and the tops are flattened out, remove them from the mold. They will usually slide right out without any difficulty if they are completely cool. If you attempt to take them out too soon, it will be more difficult to finally get them out. If they are difficult to remove, place them in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
8)Always remove the candles by pushing them slowly from base to front.
