Key to the secret of ageing.

Girl who doesn't age may hold key to ageing.
London, May 9 (ANI): American scientists are keenly studying the DNA of a 17-year-old girl who still has the body and behaviour of a baby, hoping to gain new insights into the mysteries of ageing.

At 16lb in weight and just 30in tall, Brooke Greenberg is still the size of a one-year-old.

According to a preliminary study of her DNA, her failure to grow could be linked to defects in the genes that make the rest of humanity grow old.

If confirmed, the research could give scientists a fresh understanding of ageing and even suggest new therapies for diseases linked to old age, reports The Times.

"We think that Brooke's condition presents us with a unique opportunity to understand the process of ageing," said Richard Walker, a professor at the University of South Florida School of Medicine, who is leading the research team.

"We think that she has a mutation in the genes that control her ageing and development so that she appears to have been frozen in time.

"If we can compare her genome to the normal version then we might be able to find those genes and see exactly what they do and how to control them."

Womens Day,Importance of a woman,womens,wake up guys,Respect womens,

To all the guys who read this…..please read fully and understand…………..

To all the girls who read this……….. An excellent forward……please read fully..... and forward to the boys you know……….

This is a beautiful article:
The woman in your life...very well expressed...
Tomorrow you may get a working woman, but you should marry her with these facts as well.

Here is a girl, who is as much educated as you are;
Who is earning almost as much as you do;

One, who has dreams and aspirations just as
you have because she is as human as you are;

One, who has never entered the kitchen in her life just like you or your
Sister haven't, as she was busy in studies and competing in a system
that gives no special concession to girls for their culinary achievements

One, who has lived and loved her parents & brothers & sisters, almost as
much as you do for 20-25 years of her life;

One, who has bravely agreed to leave behind all that, her home, people who love her, to adopt your home, your family, your ways and even your family ,name

One, who is somehow expected to be a master-chef from day #1, while you sleep oblivious to her predicament in her new circumstances, environment and that kitchen

One, who is expected to make the tea, first thing in the morning and cook
food at the end of the day, even if she is as tired as you are, maybe more,

and yet never ever expected to complain; to be a servant, a cook, a mother,
a wife, even if she doesn't want to; and is learning just like you are as
to what you want from her; and is clumsy and sloppy at times and knows that you won't like it if she is too demanding, or if she learns faster than you;

One, who has her own set of friends, and that includes boys and even men at her workplace too, those, who she knows from school days and yet is willing to put all that on the back-burners to avoid your irrational jealousy, unnecessary competition and your inherent insecurities;

Yes, she can drink and dance just as well as you can, but won't , simply
Because you won't like it, even though you say otherwise

One, who can be late from work once in a while when deadlines, just like yours, are to be met;

One, who is doing her level best and wants to make this most important,
relationship in her entire life a grand success, if you just help her some
and trust her;

One, who just wants one thing from you, as you are the only one she knows in your entire house - your unstinted support, your sensitivities and most importantly - your understanding, or love, if you may call it.

But not many guys understand this......

Please appreciate "HER"

I hope you will do....

So Please Respect Her.

Womens Day 8thmarch2010

International women day is recognised across the world in celebration of women´s achievements in all areas of our society. In some parts of the world, this day is celebrated by a national holiday, raising awareness and funding for projects that can enrich women´s lives.

Women have always been at the heart of human development, but they find themselves at the margins of most societies, despite major advances and a constant promotion of women development world wide. In many countries in Africa women´s position within society has not changed much in over 50 years, cultural beliefs and taboo ensures that women´s roles remain invincible and their efforts recognised for almost little or no reward.

International women´s day started in 1911 with calls for a closing of the gender gap, for women to be paid as much as men and for all women to be offered the same privileges usually bestowed on man.

International women´s day in Africa is a serious affair. Women´s lives are burdened excessively. In both urban and rural Africa women work from 7am to 7pm. Especially in rural Africa; women can be burdened by domestic chores, taking care of their kids and other activities to support their families.

In many parts of Africa there is very little investment in girls. There is a general perception that if too much energy time and resources is spent on girls, they would more than likely get married and leave the home taking away much needed investment. In many parts of Africa women cannot own land nor control the earning made of that land. Inheritance is usually passed on directly to men ignoring women all together.

Africa must recognise women´s contribution. Women burdened life style must be changed. Women cannot remain invincible. Women have to be empowered through education and a highlighting of their important role in society. An educated women can influence decision making with their husbands at home and members of the community. It is these actions that can ensure that the roles of women become fully recognised leading to better rewards.

Women´s roles across Africa are changing, much faster than we are willing to give credit for. Critics will say not fast enough. We have also seen many large institutions increase their female participation and quota for senior positions. We must acknowledge, that Africa has its first female president in Liberia and in Rwanda; female members of parliament out number their male counterparts. This is unheard off in the entire world, outstripping both the British and American parliaments.

We can see clearly how an educated, empowered and resourceful women; can achieve to great heights; especially when opportunity is readily made available. Calls for women to have better control and more say in their lives, is a noble and welcome call from an ever changing world.
HATS OFF TO ALL THE WOMENS IN THIS WORLD AND PROUD TO BE WOMAN.

7 Superfoods to Eat for a Health Boost

1.Spinach
Popeye was right: Spinach should be part of your diet. It's low in calories and high in nutrients. Research has shown that spinach aids in the prevention of age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, some cancers and cardiovascular disease. While you can always have a spinach salad or a side of the greens hot, try this recipe for a different take on the superfood.
2.Walnuts
Nuts are an excellent source of protein, fiber and vitamin E. Walnuts are the only nuts that contain a significant amount of omega-3s, and are known for their high antioxidant activity. Eat them by the handful, toss them on salads or try this delicious recipe.

3.Honey
Honey isn't just for tea. You've probably relied on honey in the past to soothe an aching throat, but did you know it has been used to treat wounds and gastrointestinal problems? Honey acts as an antioxidant, a substance that can prevent the effects of free radicals, which we're exposed to from environmental toxins such as tobacco smoke or radiation and which can contribute to disease. Honey also contains oligosaccharides, which increase the number of good bacteria in the colon. The color of honey is relevant: the darker the honey the more antioxidants it contains.
4.Salmon
Salmon is a tasty fish that's chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial fats that can improve heart health. Salmon is also protein-rich. Choose wild over farmed salmon, which has been shown to contain elevated levels of contaminants and is artificially colored.
5.Oats
Ten years ago, the FDA approved a label publicizing the association between a diet high in oat fiber and the reduction of cholesterol. Further research has proven this claim to be true: The fiber in oats lowers total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, or the bad type of cholesterol. With every 1 percent reduction in LDL cholesterol, heart-disease risk is lowered 1 to 3 percent. Oats also contain plant chemicals that have antioxidant properties.
6.Dark Chocolate
The good news: Dark chocolate is a potent antioxidant and can help reduce blood pressure. The potentially bad news: You should still keep your daily chocolate intake low, due to the fat and calories. Remember that darker is better because processing strips chocolate of some of its health benefits.

7.Blueberries
Sweet blueberries don't just make your smoothies and cereal taste better; they contain high levels of antioxidants. Some research has shown blueberries can slow degenerative diseases associated with aging and improve motor skills. Still other studies have shown the fruit to improve urinary tract health.

Indian Budget

The elephant has been synonymous with India from time immemorial, through history, mythology and belief. For decades, the Indian economy, too, came to be likened to an elephant, but in a pejorative, lumbering sense. Today, as the balance of global power shifts to the East, and India is regarded with awe for weathering the financial storm better than most, the elephant analogy is back – but with the positive attributes of size, stability, solidity and strength. With our economy projected to become the second largest in the world, after China and ahead of even the US, there’s a growing sense that we’re riding a quiet but powerful giant, one that needs to be taken care of if we want it to travel far and carry over a billion people on its back. Just as the elephant-god is worshipped by millions as remover of obstacles and bearer of good fortune, our Budgets are awaited with a prayer that they will lead us to a better tomorrow. Will this Budget make a difference to our lives, will it help the elephant dance?

NEW DELHI: When finance minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the interim budget last year on the eve of elections, the phrase 'aam admi' figured five times in his speech starting with the opening paragraph. In his latest Budget speech on Friday, the aam admi figured only twice and had to wait till well into the speech to be invoked.

Is this more than just trivia? It might well be. The salaried middle class can celebrate an entirely unexpected windfall of up to Rs 56,000 per annum from the reworked personal income tax slabs and a new tax exemption option. Most Indian corporates have reason to be happy with the surcharge on corporate tax coming down from 10% to 7.5%, even if some among them will be unhappy about the minimum alternate tax (MAT) being hiked from 15% to 18%.

Reformers will welcome the declaration of intent implied in a disinvestment target of Rs 40,000 crore for the coming year — and another Rs 14,000 crore in the one month left in this year — and the assertion that the return to fiscal rectitude has begun with the deficit being pruned to 5.5% of GDP. The proposal to issue new banking licences to the private sector after a gap of over 10 years should also please business groups that have been hankering for entry into the sector.

In contrast, the aam admi might wonder why the 'flagship' rural employment scheme (NREGS) has been given just 2.5% more than in last year's budget and the ambitious Bharat Nirman has got just 6% over the budgetary allocation last year. In real terms, adjusting for inflation, both would amount to a cut in outlays.

The aam admi is also hardly likely to be pleased with the hike in fuel prices by way of excise and customs duty increases on crude oil and petroleum products — which alone are estimated to yield the government an additional Rs 26,100 crore in the coming year. This is bound to stoke fears of further inflation. The fact that excise duty hikes are more or less across the board — in a partial exit from the stimulus package rolled out through late 2008 and early 2009 — does not help.

Mukherjee's announcement that excise duty on petrol and diesel will go up by one rupee per litre prompted what might well be the first-ever boycott of a budget speech, or a part of it, by the Opposition. That's a sign that these parties believe they can gain some political traction on the issue.

True, the middle class too will not be spared the impact of these duty hikes, which the FM later insisted would directly raise the inflation rate by just 0.4%. It can also point to the fact that the extended coverage of service tax to things like domestic air travel and under-construction houses will do it no favours. But it would be difficult to dispute that on balance the Budget has saved more money for this section than it has taken away.

As for corporates, the 175-point rise in the Sensex on the day was a fair indicator of how the markets perceive the overall impact of the Budget on India Inc. While excise duty hikes are never good news for industry, the much lower-than-expected borrowings of the government — projected at Rs 3.45 lakh crore — means business need not fear being either crowded out of the credit market, or being hit by the kind of rise in interest rates that a larger borrowing programme would have meant by increasing the demand for credit.

The FM is clearly betting on growth to help him raise revenues on the scale he expects, while the fact that the pay commission arrears and farm loan waiver are no longer a millstone around his neck has helped enormously in keeping expenditure from rising too much.

The direct tax changes for individuals and corporates, he said, would cost him Rs 26,000 crore over the year, while the excise, customs and service tax changes would get him an additional Rs 46,500 crore, thus yielding a net Rs 20,500 crore. On the corporate tax front, a higher MAT will fetch him Rs 6,000 crore, while lower surcharge will lose him Rs 5,000 crore — a modest additional burden of Rs 1,000 crore on India Inc.

Mukherjee said in his speech that the proposed move to a goods and service tax (GST) would have to wait till April next year and that he would also introduce the proposed new direct tax code, which is premised on lower rates with fewer exemptions, from April 2011.

Later in the day, he told a TV channel that while he was sure about the introduction of the direct tax code next year, since that was within his purview, GST coming into force would require the concurrence of the states and hence was something he couldn't guarantee.

How to safe your car from theft.Car safety.

How To Screw Up A Car Thief's Day
New Year's Day Is Most Active For Thieves

It takes less time for a professional thief to break into your car, start it up and drive away as it does for you to walk into 7-11, plunk down three bucks for a bagel and coffee and emerge to watch your ride recede into the distance. And don’t presume your elderly clunker’s immune; the most stolen vehicle of 2008, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, was the 1994 Honda Accord.

“We know that thieves never miss an opportunity to make a quick buck by stealing a car,” says Joe Wehrle, president and CEO of NICB. “They work weekends, nights and holidays and ironically, they are particularly busy on New Year’s Day and Labor Day.”

While there isn’t any way to stop a crook who really wants your ride and has the tools and know-how to make it happen, the following tips can help your car become a less inviting target and slow down, discourage or actually prevent car theft.

Holiday Car Theft
Holiday Number of Thefts
New Year's Day 3,017
Labor Day 2,847

Halloween 2,727
President's Day 2,683
Memorial Day 2,599
Independence Day 2,584
Valentine's Day 2,389
Christmas Eve 1,841
Thanksgiving 1,806
Christmas Day 1,267
New Years Eve 916
The holidays ranked by number of thefts reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for 2008.
Our natural inclination is to hide something we don’t want anyone to steal, but for cars, visibility is the key to safety, say experts. Thieves prefer to work out of sight of people and electronic recording devices, so leave your car in a well-lit, populated area.

1.Take your keys---always.
If you think this tip falls into the “duh” section of car theft prevention, try Googling the phrase “keys in ignition” or similar and you’ll see many trusting souls leave the equivalent of a sign reading “FREE CAR!” hanging from their ignition switches on a daily basis. Car theft is often a crime of opportunity, so shut yours off and pocket your keys even if you’re only ducking into a convenience store.
2.Don’t hide your keys anywhere within or outside the car.
You know those magnetic key holders you can buy to store your spare key? Leave it in your house on the fridge, not under bumpers, in the glove compartment or anywhere in the car. Thieves know all the hiding places you do, and probably a few more.

3.Use a variety of methods to slow would-be thieves.
Car alarms are ubiquitous and often go ignored. When used in tandem with other theft prevention methods, though, they will make a thief naturally try to work faster, and if he comes across other security measures, he may give up altogether and move on. Apply the emergency brake, turn your wheels hard left or right and set the car in “park” or in gear, making it more difficult for you to be quickly towed, and consider using a vehicle recovery system like LoJack or an engine immobilizer device such as Ravelco.
4.Disable your battery if parking long-term.
A thief won’t spend time trying to diagnose an apparent engine problem. Consider yanking one of the cable wires to your battery if you’re leaving your car parked at an airport or anywhere else where it will sit unattended for more than a few days.
5.Sign valuable parts
Take the time to embed your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the inside of your trunk, inside your doors, on your sound system components and any other pricey parts thieves like to chop. If you don’t feel like doing it yourself, contact your local police precinct or even your insurance company, some of whom offer free VIN etchings.
6.Go east
California is the number one state for auto theft, according to the National Insurance Crime bureau, with the town of Modesto ranking #1 with 4,235 vehicles stolen in 2008.

7.Always park in plain sight.

The good news for all of us is that auto thefts were down almost 9% overall in 2008, according to the NICB, to less than one million a year in 2008. With foresight and preventive measures that don’t take much time, you can help ensure you’ll never have to experience that unique nausea familiar to anyone finding a grease spot where their car was parked.

V-DAY,Valentine day gifts and ideas

Valentine Day
One of the least romantic days of the year is Valentine's Day. Yes you heard me correctly.
The majority of men act like robots, purchasing flowers and chocolate for their sweethearts because that is what everyone else is doing. Many people celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration.
Here are some ways to celebrate Valentine's Day a bit more romantically and creatively.

For Girl friend And Boyfriend Or Fiance:
1. At 12 o'clock call ur valentine and wish him/her ,express ur love and whatever u want to say ,
just express it.
2. Ask ur valentine to spend V- day with you, either in restaurant or some peaceful place.
It is better to take her/him in his/her favourite place.
3.Give him/her gift first and say how much you love.
Girls gift - A big Teddy Bear, girls love teddy specially the bigger one.
Boys gift-Message in a bottle,love songs cd.
For Married couples:
1.Wear both of you red colour dress .
2.Wifes can arrange surprise party or can make her husband favorite dish.
3.Husband can make bed tea, breakfast for their wife.
Decorate the bed tea tray with roses and then wake up her.
4.Spend time with each other
5.Go for a long drive.
6.If possible then celebrate it in some different place like visit some tourist place or beaches.
7.Party in cruise is the best to celebrate valentine day with your love.

While a lot of people recommend roses and chocolate as romantic gifts, I think they are often unromantic for that very reason. EVERYONE gives them. I have a better gift idea.

If the purpose behind a romantic gift is to make someone special, then the gift should be a little bit unique, don't you think?

I've come across a handful of romantic gifts that are worth recommending. These gifts ideas are great gifts for him and gifts for her.

#1 You can't give a gift that is much more personal than a romance novel created just for the two of you. Pick the major theme of the book and then include dozens of personal details (names, eye color, etc.) and you will be shipped a paperback book with you two as the main characters.

#2 A message in a bottle - not just any ordinary bottle, but one of lasting beauty and memories. Create your own message or let them give you some "inspiration.

#3 You can have a personalized CD created with custom love songs professionally written and sung. Much less expensive than you would think.

Brendan Burke, son of Brian Burke dies in a car crash

Brendan Burke was far, far too young at 21 when he died as the result of injuries he suffered in a car crash in Wayne County, Ind., on Friday i.e.5thfeb2010? That he had a passion for hockey he inherited from his father, Brian, the former general manager of the Ducks and current GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he made that passion his own as the student manager of the hockey team at Miami of Ohio?

That he had the manners and smarts to have made a heck of a hockey executive, which he had dreamed of becoming? People in hockey who know Brian Burke and knew Brendan had similar reaction to his death. Very upsetting.
Brian Burke is the general manager of the U.S. men’s hockey team for the Vancouver Olympics, and he had planned to march in the opening ceremony next Friday. It’s too early to think about whether Brendan’s death will impact Brian’s participation in the upcoming Games, but you have to think that because it’s hockey-related and so much of Brendan’s life revolved around the sport, Brendan would have wanted him to be there. The Burke family—his father, mother, stepmother and five siblings—lost a son, a brother, a friend. The hockey world lost a shining spirit.

Rahul Gandhi in mumbai

Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a local train from suburban Andheri to Dadar in central Mumbai after his plans to visit a slum in Ghatkopar by a helicopter. An SPG protectee, the Congress leader, accompanied by the newly-appointed Indian Youth Congress president Rajeev Satav and party MP Jitendra Singh, disembarked at Dadar, a Shiv Sena stronghold, from where he took another train on way to Ghatkopar, an eastern suburb.
Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has issued a diktat to his supporters to greet Gandhi with black flags during his Mumbai visit to protest his "Mumbai for all Indians" remark. Scores of Sena supporters were rounded up while staging protests in the city.
According to Mumbai Youth Congress president Sunil Ahire, Gandhi was slated to board a chopper at Vile Parle and land in Vikhroli to avoid any incident, but changed his mind midway.

Rahul, who is on a day-long visit to the city, was accompanied by his security personnel. The city witnessed a curfew-like atmosphere with tight security in the Shiv Sena bastion.
Rahul Gandhi landed at the Santa Cruz Old Airport in Juhu at about 11.20am and drove to the Bhaidas Hall, barely a kilometre away, where he was scheduled to address 1,100 college students and youth. A couple of kilometres from Bhaidas Hall, a group of women activists led by Shiv Sena corporator Rajul Patel attempted to break the security barricades but they were whisked off to the police station and put under detention.

Violating prohibitory orders, Shiv Sainiks had also gathered in large groups in Andheri, Vile Parle, Jogeshwari and Ghatkopar. Waiting to receive him were chief minister Ashok Chavan, Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee office-bearers, local elected representatives and other prominent persons. There were heavy security arrangements that saw traffic being stopped in and around the Juhu-Vile Parle area.

The Mumbai Police efforts were supplemented by commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG), Rapid Action Force and other forces. After his brief visit, lasting just about four hours, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to go to Pondicherry.

11 year old girl gives birth in USA

An 11-year-old girl in the Northeast of USA recently gave birth to a baby boy.
The girl’s mother stated that her daughter and baby are fine and baby is very beautiful.
The girl and her family are not being named in order to protect the girl’s privacy.
According to Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing health editor of FoxNews.com,said that the girl’s age places her in significant dangers and a
very comprehensive approach to her care needs to be instituted early in her pregnancy.
This case is not about a teenager, this is about a child girl who gives birth to a baby. Dr. Abdulla Al-Khan, a leading high-risk obstetrician noted; it’s about a pre-teen, or child, who’s body is not built to carry a child yet.
"Her body is clearly not defined for pregnancy with its short stature," Al-Khan said. "Her chest is not extensively developed for breast tissue, her bones aren’t quite fused, and once you expose a child this young to high amounts of progesterone and especially estrogen, there is controversy that it could halt her growth."

FLOATING CANDLES MAKING

Simple ways to make Floating candles.
Materials:
*Any candle wax
*Stearic Acid
*Pre tabbed wicks
*Floater mold
*candle dye or camel wax colour
* Any Oil
Process:First melt down the wax in gas stove very carefully.Never melt it directly on gas .Always use double boiler.Place a pan on gas and add water. Place pouring pot within this boiling water and put the wax in it.Allow to melt.
2)If you want colourful floating candles, put the wax colour or dye when the wax starts boiling.
3)Place all floater mold in a tray or newspaper.Grease the inner side of molds with little oil so that you can take out the candles easily.
4)Now fill your floater with melted wax .
5)Once the wax begins to cool as evidenced by a slight haze forming along the edges of the mold, place your pre-tabbed wicks into the floater molds. The tab will “stick" to the congealed wax on the bottom when it touches. Care should be taken to position the tab roughly in the center of the mold.
6). When the wax has completely cooled, it will have shrunken a bit, leaving a sink hole. To fix this, melt down saved wax from the first pour, and heat it up hotter than the initial pour. This will facilitate adhesion between layers. Fill the molds again to the lip of the mold. You can also use heat gun to smooth the top of the floater.
7). When the floaters are completely cool, and the tops are flattened out, remove them from the mold. They will usually slide right out without any difficulty if they are completely cool. If you attempt to take them out too soon, it will be more difficult to finally get them out. If they are difficult to remove, place them in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
8)Always remove the candles by pushing them slowly from base to front.
